Over 3,000 photographic images of Manville, New Jersey, created primarily for use in company publications and other public relations activities of Johns-Manville Corporation. Depicted are buildings, people and events, with special emphasis on Johns-Manville Corporation. A few views of Somerville, Somerset County, are also present, as are several original and copy views of earlier images by other photographers. Included are both negatives and prints, although some images are present in only one of these formats. Documents (captions, dinner programs, etc.) which accompanied selected images are also present. The several albums in the collection pertain in part to Manville's silver jubilee in 1954. A strike in 1970 is depicted in a sequence of prints which are pasted to large display boards.
